  • EGR valve ecu code out

Hey guys I didn't get my prado yet but I'm already concerned about the erg fiasco.

I saw some companies in the UK that will code out the egr valve completely. Meaning it will no longer look for the erg. I believe this is how it's set up in 3rd world countries without any emission testing, it's just done by Toyota instead of a tuner.

Who's a reliable company that does this?

I don't think any of those three can remove the egr system from our vehicles. I'm not aware of anyone who can delete the egr from modern Toyota vehicles.

I think you're right, they don't have anything for the 150...

A mate at work recently bought a CRD Triton. He did his research b4 buying and found that someone has worked out by simply installing a certain size resistor (where abouts in the circuit, he never mentioned), that this was enough to trick to the Computer and apparently somehow it now never opens..... Not sure whether this is something that can be done on other make of vehicles....

there has to be a way around it via software of mechanically... the way you describes sounds like the way to fool the ecu into thinking that egr valve is getting the proper flow or pressure readings from the sensor. after all its only an electrical reading that tells the ecu that it's working properly or not.

With the amount of the 1kd-ftv engines running around I'm sure there would be a big incentive $$ for someone to figure it out.
