  • Radiator exposed

    Hi,

I have a friend who owns a Prado Kakadu 150 v6, his has a toyota bullbar.. last month they went to blacksmith beach and when they arrive, we checked hiis engine compartment and found that so much sand was there...checking under the engine bay, alas, we saw that there was no cover there...i have attached pictures..

    Questions:

Is this supposed to be open when you have a toyota bullbar? or that piece is missing? I checked on my kakadu and it is different as i do not have bullbar, mine was with stock bumper....so i am assuming that the piece missing should have been part of the toyota bullbar kit, is this correct?

Is there an after market cover that can be purchased?

sorry for the poor pictire quality, taken with my phone last night

    Thank you in advance.

    Arnold

Not 100% sure on a radiator guard being part of the toyota genuine kit, but I know there are many manufacturers that sell radiator guards so I would be assuming no.

I have an ARB deluxe bull bar & it comes with a radiator guard panel that infills that space and protects the radiator.

The photos show 2 tabs that are visible which may be where the missing panel bolts up to. There is evidence that something was bolted to those tabs previously.

Can you name some manufacturer sir? The thing is that it looks like it will be dependent on the Bullbar and in this case it is toyota genuine bullbar....

Yes, that's what we are thinking as well...actually if i remember correctly, there are 3 tabs in the bullbar that have nothing on it, we are assuming it is where it should be bolted on on one side....now need to find manufacturer that has this radiator guard panel that will fit with toyota bullbar...

Thank you gents for your responses.

Hah, yeah I missed the fact those tabs were on the bullbar side.....
You don't happen to know anyone who would make a good quality replacement by any chance do you Andrew?

I believe this is the panel that he needs (Toyota part number 52129-60020) which should be the same panel on your 150, Arien. Remove yours and try it out on his.

Yeah, this is the cover that goes there. Im 100% sure since i have it on mine. Its a piece of plastic that is held by a couple of screws.

If you need it go see ARB/TJM and ask if they have one in the bin, otherwise has anyone in Sydney installed their own bar and still has it? I know I'm a clepto and still have mine somewhere at home (hell, I still have the bits of plastic from the front and rear bumper cuts)

Thanks Guys, the neighbors fabricated it with a sheet of galvo, painted it and then fitted it, so he's a happy bloke now....no more concerns about excessive amount of sands coming into his engine bay...
