  • Rear view camera

I've noticed a lot of Prado's with the 'Prado' rear wheel cover have the rear view camera mounted near the handle to open the rear door. I assume the cameras have been moved there. How do you get that done? Is that something a Toyota service centre would do? I am thinking I need to move mine so I can see my tow ball.

Don't take it as gospel, but at a guess I'd be saying that perhaps they are aftermarket ones people have fitted & never had the ones mounted on the wheel cover.

Do you need to move it? Will this work? http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-to-see-towbar

I've just notched my shroud, but i also don't have the rear wheel cover on anymore.

are you sure they are 150s?
If you want to see the towball, just remove the cover below the lens, or shave off a bit of the bracket.

          Easy to shift
just undo it from the wheel centre and take it across to the number plate shroud

Thanks everyone. Snapper49, can't say I've looked to see how easy it might be to do that. I will have a look. Would it affect the accuracy of the image (if you know what I mean)? Also, I read in my manual that you can switch the view mode to perpendicular parking. Seems like the image in the book shows the guide lines moving with the direction of the car (again, if you know what I mean) The manual shows what seems to be 'buttons' on the bottom corner of the screen to change the view but mine doesn't show that. Is this only on some models or can you set it up to do it? I'm used to that in my wife's car.

              Hi there,

My Tow Bar extends far enough to been seen with the Camera, however I don't use it to "Hook Up".

The Camera is not in the centre of the vehicle & I find it a little unreliable to use to "Hook Up".

If you wish to use the camera for the above purpose, don't move it further "Off Centre".

ID:	652776I couldn't stand the supplied spare wheel cover Pain in the you know what to get on and off so replaced with a custom wheel cover which in turn blocked the camera so I relocated the camera as shown in picture Was a relatively easy exercise
