  • Fuel Line Protection

Hopefully this is in the right spot...

A colleague of mine recently found himself in a pickle just out of Wonnangatta. For whatever reason (he suspects a combination of fatigue and a stick) the fuel lies on his 120 petrol were ripped out and subsequently left him in a bit of a situation.
The location of the break is just forward of the fuel tank next to the chassis rail. The area is incredibly exposed (though high up). This is essentially the same for the 150.

Has anyone thought of making/installing protection for this area?

Ill try and get a photo tonight after work.

I was thinking of making a mesh guard for the fuel cooler (diesel model) as mine has copped a few strikes from stones causing the fins to bend. It also gets full of mud when you get into some deep stuff.

Have a look at Tins 150 Transfer Case and Actuator Guard, it covers or shields a large part of this area and would provide protection to reduce the amount of stuff that could get caught up there.

          Transfer and actuator guard

The guard I made to cover the Actuator and transfer case will also offer some protection to the fuel lines.

The guard spans the chassis rails. Here are a couple of pics of what it covers.

That'd do the trick... When I get my coins together, I may have to invest.
