Hey guys, if there is another thread on this topic can you please let me know and delete this one

Ive bought a 2010 GX Prado manual diesel and now when I start the vehicle the Centre Differential Light flashes on the dash when the car starts.
I press the button and nothing happens.
the only way it goes away is if I turn it to 4LO (it doesnt appear on the dash), turn the vehicle off, turn it back on 4LO will appear (no centre diff light on) switch it back to 4HI and im back in 2WD.
any help?

The Centre Diff Light flashes when the CDL in engaged but the vehicle is not in neutral (auto). To flash when the CDL switch in not ON must be a CPU or sensor fault. Could be a wire off/broken or dirty connection. If you can access a Scan Gauge you could scan for faults (must have if you plan on taking the Prado remote) otherwise get a dealer to scan it for you.
Will the CDF engage if you ask it too?

I recently completed a 1200km trip over two days, all of it bitumen driving. I got home parked up and left the vehicle for half an hour. I got back in and started the vehicle to be greeted with a flashing center diff lock light flashing. I haven't used or touched the diff lock button for months. I turned off the car and restarted with the light now off. I then tried to engage the diff lock and 4lo to check operation. I now can not get my prado out of 4 lo and the diff light is flashing. Have tried the reversing and driving trick to engage/disengage with no joy. Have checked fuses (all ok) and am now stuck.
Nothing is open being the time of year and have a useless vehicle in the carport. Please can anyone help? Thank you

Do you know what the issue was? As I now have the same problem
