Hi all, I am new to the site. I have recently purchased a 2012 150 series Prado (Diesel). Curious as to any recommendations for a decent place to get it serviced in the Adelaide area? 80K due shortly and one place is quoting $1050.

Toyota service is a rip off. Find a reputable local mechanic, buy your own parts, and it will cost much less. eg at 150,000 km you replace timing belt. Toyota 1 quoted $600 just to replace belt. Toyota 2 quoted $1020 because they also wanted to replace idler bearing, water pump and belt etc etc ("highly advisable"). I bought the belt for $100 and paid a young mechanic two slabs to replace it in my garage. 30 minutes work. They will talk you into anything.

I'm guessing diesel auto?
What should be done according to Toyota are as follows
Oil & Oil Filter
Underbody Fuel Filter
Front & Rear Diff Oils
Transfer case Oil
Air Filter
Brake Fluid
Inspect valve clearances
I would not bother about the valve clearances (they probably won't do them anyway) but would get the underbonet fuel filter changed. Make sure injector feed back values are checked. If it is an auto I would also want the auto oil checked and possibly changed.Silver 150 Facelift
TJM Bullbar, Lightforce Genisis Spots, Dual Battery System with bits from everyone, Powerful 4x4 slider/steps, Kaymar rear bar, "Genuine" Roof Racks, MSA Seatcovers, Dashmat, Tint, LED Interior Globes, Bridgestone D697s
