  • Need your help: How to disable Prado 150 Series speed limit (110Km?) noisy beep?

Hi, Today we drave fro Perth to Busselton Jetty. most fo the road speed limit is 110Kmh. but the speed limit beep was very noisy. I use a iPhone's Tomtom and I found the beep is on when the speed is just over 106Kmh, the car start noisy beep. How to disable this noisy beep or set the noisy beep at 115Kmh. How can I find the answer from the manual?

another question: I put the back tyre pressure at 39psi; Front tyre pressure 38psi, and I found the car is slightly bumpy when the speed is over 100Kmh on the highway. is this OK or not OK?

    Thanks

    Thomas

What model do you have mate? My 2013 GXL has not noisy beep, if it does its not under 160km/h.

What were your tyres at previously? If they were lower you will notice the ride is firmer once you bump up the pressure.

Thanks, the model is KDJ150R-GKAEYQ, it seems the car start beep when the speed is up to 110KM, my tomtom GPS says 106~108 Kmp, may be not accurate.
      The tyre is LT245/R7.0 R17, 119/116S

I have a 2010 and have never heard about that.
Have you tried letting the other half drive and the annoying beep will go away!

Think he is asking about the speed limit warning in a Tom Tom app on his IPhone. Correct?

Sure it's not the tomtom beeping? Don't think it'll be the Prado

the warning beep is sharp, feel uncomfortable, not from tomtom. I have checked the iphone's tomtom app and there is no setting on speed alert, not as standard Tomtom GPS.

It must be fitted with a similar system to what we have fitted to our vehicles on site, I refer to it as screw the driver over system and annoying doesn't come close to describing it.
I would have thought that they would have removed/disabled the system prior to auctioning/selling it off.
Our system uses geofencing to work out if you driving to the correct speed for the area being driven aswell as other "educational" driving alerts.

Your's is an ex Thrifty hire vehicle wasn't it (mine hired) or from an mining company?, either way there should be some paperwork or labelling to indicate who fitted the device and what make/model the device is.
if there is you could try contacting the supplier/installer to find out if they can remove or disable it for you or recommend an installer that can remove/disable it for you.

Thank you for your infmation, mate.

the car is previously used for commercial hire. in auction due to company's administration. the cars were sold as they were originally equipped. there were 20 cars for auction. 4 of them were Prado, the rest are Hilux. as you know, at mine or remote project site, the speed is strictly limited below 20~50 Kmh. I believe these Prados are used to pick up workers from Airport/camp to and from jobsite. that's why they put 110kmh speed alert. I used to find some good drivers (not me)drive the similar car at 110~130KMP on the highway but no noisy speed alert sharp beep.

                      Regards,
                      Thomas
