And I was thinking I might just jet one or two replies to starting this tread (although not a brand new topic)
I accept that there are more important things but I think this is a good case where a major brand is deceiving its customers and trying to make some easy money when times have moved on for this type of technology (now a common feature). Does anyone remember when heated rear windows or reversing lights was a big selling point!
This is an interesting summary by brand: http://www.mynrma.com.au/get-involve...s-by-brand.htm

So I reckon the map files SD card is installed when the card get to Oz - ie by Toyota Australia. The "fitted at the factory" line is just a way of avoiding the issue.

I guess my point is it's not just Toyota its seems to be all GPS systems. I'd still rather have 2 year old maps than use a UBD? My home street isn't on mine but luckily I know where i live.

With the Clarion unit that was in my Prado, my last update was 2 years ago. I enquired about another update, do to the increase in speed cameras, point-to-point cameras, new roads, etc, and the original installer told me (from his contact in Melbourne) that with so many increases in capital cities, especially Sydney, any updates now would be superseded in just a few months, so there will be a bit of a delay for the next update - time unknown.

2nd June 2015 - Latest version of Prado 150 series Satellite Navigation maps available on SD card?
I just got my Prado 150 VX diesel (2014 build) maps (on SD card) updated by the Toyota dealer to June 2015 version.
Picture attached.
Yes it is a 1 year old version but this is the latest Toyota dealer had and they did not know when the next version of maps on SD card will come out or if June 2015 is indeed the latest version.
Does anyone have anything more recent?
For those with a CD version of maps (not me) dealer has been notified by Toyota that next version (version 22) will come out in August 2017. The same information on CD version has been confirmed to me by Toyota Customer Experience centre as well.

Kaptian, I think that is the firmware date - the map files dates are elsewhere in the system? I must admit I am a bit confused about what the latest set is!
For example the pics below are from my system - the navigation software is Sept 4 2014, but the map files are Australia 2013.Q4.
Out of interest when I had the system paired with my phone once it tried to start downloading a new firmware file (ie not maps but system OS), but fell over. Having just had a bad experience with an iPhone update that briked my phone, I didn't try again.

@Kapitan Please have a look in the menu for the "Content List-Maps" page. This shows what maps you have installed, not the page that you uploaded which is the iGo navigation software version. I have a nasty feeling that your maps will still be 2014 and the dealership do not know what they are talking about.

2012 Q3 maps sold with 2014 Q4 delivered Prado?
Thank you for pointing out. I am attaching GPS screen shots. From attached it looks like my Prado sold end of October 2014 came with maps dated Q3 2012?
Also looks like neither Toyota as a company nor their dealer fully understands their own products. I showed them my previous screen shots and they also did not realise that it was firmware date on them ...

Thanks for confirming my suspicions, not a good advert for the dealer. It does seem that the very best a Toyota Australia customer can expect is two year old maps in a brand new vehicle.
I find this irritating to say the least when I can easily download Australia and New Zealand 2016 Q2 from the same mapping company for my mobile phone or other navigation devices. I wonder why Toyota lock their units so that customers cannot load their own maps to their vehicle?

I get back to WA in two weeks time and will be visiting my dealer to change my SD card to the "latest" which they have had in stock for me for several months now. I am happy to post pictures of the card and maps version (2014) once I get it but in the meantime there is a picture in post 34 of this thread which may be what you need.

So I suspect you will be up to Q4 2014 addition. Maybe you might get lucky and have a newer map which will open up a flood of claims.
