3000kg Tow Capacity V6 Prado

Hi all,

I've got a 2011 GXL V6 Prado. Its got a Hayman Reese towbar on it part number : R2640 that states the maximum trailer weight is 3000kg and ball load 300kg. It also has a disclaimer to check the vehicle owners handbook. As we all know, the handbook in Australia anyway, has a maximum of 2500kg and 250kg on the ball. Our van doesn't weigh quite 2500kg but I'm interested to know if anyone has similar or know why HR were badging them for 3T. Or even better, that the petrol Prados can tow 3T and I've missed it in the manual somewhere!

The 5 door Prado's towing capacity is 2500kg with ball weight of 250kg. The towbar itself is rated at 3000kg/300kg but when fitted to the 5 door Prado, it is limited to 2500kg or when fitted to the 3 door = 3000kg.
