  • Tigerz11 winch review

Im looking at picking up a winch at the brissy 4wd show tomorrow (if price is right) have heard good reports on the tigerz. Been doing a bit of reading and can't find much difference between the Hercules and grande?? Has anyone got one recently and how much $$ also any reviews of older ones if they have held up to the punishment.
    Thanks Dan

They don't make the Hercules any more, it's the Grande or the Domin8r. I have a Grande but have not had to use it in anger yet, freespool isn't the greatest but it's been dunked in water plenty of times and survived. I did do a lot of prep work on the control box to seal it before mounting it though. The supplied cables for the control box were too short for my install so I had new longer ones made up and attached. The Domin8r came out after I bought the Grande so can't comment.

Are 4WDSupaCentre even going to be at the show? I don't think they came to the last Melbourne one.

As I read the advertising. The grande is a stronger, higher powered, lower geared, cheaper winch.

The Domin8R is IP67 compliant, and able to be submerged to 1m.

I think the reliability that comes from that, overcomes the lower power. They have put a rubber cover over the motor seal which should stop water ingress - the major cause of failure in winches.

They are both selling at a very good price at the moment.
