  • 2015 Prado Altitude JBL Radio Bluetooth Phone Echo

I have a 2015 Prado Altitude which has the JBL radio used in various Toyota models. The radio has a terrible echo & feedback for anyone who calls me in the car. I dont hear the echo in the car, it is only people who call me from either mobile or landline phones. The supplier (Fujitsu Ten) and Toyota Australia have evaluated the car and confirmed the problem but dont have any solutions. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem with their JBL radios?

Yes. Recently bought the wife a Prado Kakadu and I don't like the sound when I call her when she is in the car. I had a 200 Sahara till fairly recently and it's hands free was awesome, much better than the Prado. I wasn't expecting to take a backward step in this regard given the model I bought

Yes I too have this problem in the VX 150. I have asked Toyota who know but can't solve it. They did suggest to try different "transmit volume" settings while on a call but this doesn't improve it much according to Wifey.

I did impulsively invest in a Bluetooth headset which she reckons is much clearer when I call. For a 80k plus Car to not get this sorted is very poor. Still lots to like about it ( good stereo at MAX!) but a fix for this would go a long way in restoring some faith in the brand.
