Today I finally got that one important accessory fitted - the snorkel... While they were finishing up and wiping the car down - I was asked a question (more of a statement) -
"you been to the beach mate?"
to which I agreed and nodded ... and asked why the interest.
I was made aware of the pile of sand in the lower part of the inner guard / fender (that section between the wheel arch and the door hinges) - now in any other normal car, easy to clean as its open and you can stick your hand in there... on arrival at home, I had a look to see how I could have been so careless to miss that spot (rust heaven) to find to my surprise it is neatly closed off with some plastic strip.
Did some googling, tried some keywords on PP - but could not find anything specific...
Except for undoing the delicate plastic guard clips each time after a beach run (those flimsy plastic clips that holds the plastic wheel arch in place that will break after every second cleaning attempt)
?? Is there any other recommendation to clean those inner-inner guards after a good mud/beach run... as I can see these sections a possible disaster area for rust and does not seem that there is enough of a gap to push in a garden hose.
