obd2 and ecu

i have 2010 Prado GX.
I bought a ELM327 bluetooth afapter to connect the Obd2 data with new Android headunit (Joying RK3188).
Using 'Torque Pro', the adapter connects to Torque/HU; however it only occasionally connects with ECU.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

If thats the one from Ali or similar the bluetooth connectivity isnt great.
