Our Prado had it's 18 month service the other week at a Toyota Dealer near work and when I picked it up the service guy said they rotated the tyres. Since we have a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System I asked how they rotated them (so I could update the positions) - he didn't know so and asked the mechanic who said "front to back on each side". I was a bit dubious but didn't have a chance to check.
Anyway on the weekend I had some time to kill so went to a servo and let tyres down one at a time, watching to see which one the TPMS showed deflating. It became pretty clear that they haven't done a rotation at all - all the wheels are still in the same spots. To make it even clearer (in case you're thinking they were smart enough to swap the tyres on the TPMS) the front left tyre is definitely in the same spot as before because it doesn't show up on the TPMS! (Long story - in wheel transmitters and I forgot to write down the code before it was installed on that wheel - I have to take it to a tyre place to get it checked).
So... what do I do? If they didn't do the wheel rotation should I be worried about what else they didn't do? If I raise it with the service manager is anything likely to change?
