Removing rear view mirror

Can anyone help me with how I remove the rear view mirror from my 2016 GXL.

I am assuming that I can remove the mirror assembly without removing the bit that is glued to the windscreen.
I don't want to remove the bit the is glued, just the mirror.

I've had a bit of a play but I am worried I'll break something.

I've tried that, but it still won't budge.

I don't know about the Prado but on my Jazz it slides up and off the metal pad glued to the windscreen. The first time it was quite stiff. After that it's easy.

If its a standard non anti glare mirror, just tap the base of the mounting clip with a soft plastic or rubber mallet, it will come straight off. It has no retaining screws. The Anti Glare Mirror has a size 20 Torx screw securing it.
