  • Map pane/Map window freezing in the new prado

Twice in the space of one week the map pane(window) on my 2.8L/2015 Prado has frozen. The freeze doesn't affect other functions... can use all other functions... but the Map is frozen (i.e. cursor doesn't move and can't use the menu on the map). Only way to unfreeze is to restart the car.

Anyone else run into this issue?

    Thanks
2.8L Kakadu (Chrystal Pearl). Extras - Snorkel, tow-bar, tint & bonnet protection. Wish list - Bash-plate, diff breather extension

No problems on mine. There was a minor software update a couple of months ago (need to have phone connected to update it)

I have noticed if I have a USB thumbstick inserted into the USB port it can cause weird things like this to occur. My phone system is ultra slow and sometime crashes and the maps have locked up on me once as well. Removed the stick and all good.

Usually if you hold the power button down for about 5 seconds it will restart (on a 2014 it will)

Took it to dealer... they did a software 'update' (though i didn't notice any updates when I checked my self) - So far so good... TRSmith, thanks for tip regarding power button, will try next time

if you run the Toyota link app on your phone there is usually an update it downloads every 6 months or so. just start the app up every now and then to check. i use it for pandora radio
