hi All,
tried my best to find this on other threads but cant seem to, ive got a mid 2011 Prado Diesel 3L D4D. When the AC is off / compressor not engaged, the RPM is around 650ish, when ON it goes to about 800 which seems excessive. More break force is requred when its on to stop the car rolling forward. Ive driven many cars that compensate for the ac BUT not increase the idle more than required to satisfy the load. It must use more fuel doing this.
Is this normal?
