School boy talk there toyotatuff lol
Early DPF issues were well documented and have been resolved since at least mid 2018. Perhaps if you read recent posts you might note how reports of DPF failures have largely disappeared probably because Toyota figured out the correct programming. Also Toyota supported there equipment with an extended warranty so not really an issue now.

None of which relates to your uninformed posts regards modern engine design and durability.

Zzzzzz, you are delusional lethal Karen, get in a loaded truck and go uphill whilst it is doing a re-gen. Engines do not do as many kms.
The question i will ask you then is.
If you were given a new car and had the option of it not having or having a dpf what would you choose.

You really struggle to keep it civil. Name calling is the fallback when you can't make a serious argument. Tone it down, or find somewhere else to vent and troll.

I think we would all prefer our engines to be simple and powerful. Unfortunately, technology is needed to make them more powerful. I think most modern manufacturers are doing a reasonable job finding a balance between emissions, technology and reliability.
Yes a 1hd fte would be awesome in the Prado, but emissions regs would not allow that.
Yes a 1gdftv with no dpf or egr would also be nice.
However I would like to leave my kids with a planet to enjoy, so I put up with the financial pain of owning such pollution reducing technology.
I don’t think many builders enjoyed not being able to use asbestos anymore, as it’s a great product, but I know a lot of people benefited by its banning.
Yes a dpf is restrictive for any motor, but my Prado still has 150kw and 500nm which is well above a non dpf Prado. How long it will last, only time will tell. How long did some of the old diesels last??? My 1hz only made 250k and it’s as basic as you can get. I think maintenance and care goes a long way.
I can’t tell the difference towing during a regen or not, power doesn’t seem to be effected and nor should it if you understand how the dpf works. A fully clogged dpf would definitely effect power, hence why Toyota regen at about 40%.
If you hate the Prado so much, maybe you need to choose another vehicle. Personally I’m pretty happy with what I got for my money.

ToyotaTuff, actually I drive a loaded truck regularly which is fitted with a DPF and there have been zero issues with the DPF.
As to performing a burn while loaded it will make no difference to performance as the burn is conducted downstream of the engine and has no effect on engine performance.
You are repeatedly showing your lack of knowledge of modern engines and how they function.

Rubbish Leethal, ive driven trucks for 30 years and the dpf does effect power whilst burning, they actually upped the turbo to cater for the restrictive exhaust. Plus they start clogging at only 150000kms, wanting you to pull over anywhere to do a 20 min re-gen, i have far superior knowledge of this than you Mr part timer truck driver. Downstream wtf? The re -gen does when it wants.

I really couldn't care less about greenie pollution, the kids or grandkids whatever, if your that worried go to India and China and tell them ,they are the biggest polluters, ive read and watched to much negative articles on turbo diesels, i will be selling mine and getting a Nissan Patrol TLi V8 petrol. They shouldn't have stopped making V6 Prados, always wished you could buy a Prado with a 6L or 6.2L V8 Chev motor.

If I believed you could comprehend some basic reasoning, I would endeavour to explain a dpf burn process and how it can’t affect power. But I don’t believe you would be able to listen to sound reasoning. Yes a dpf will cost power due to being a restriction in the exhaust, but the burn itself will not.

I wish you all the best and for the first time in my life I feel sorry for the Nissan drivers who get the privilege of your knowledge on their forums from now on.

ToyotTuff, your really have no idea. Your statement "you have read and watched too many videos" sums up your knowledge base.
FYI I have nearly 50 years experience working on diesel engines, last 20 years working for a global engine manufacturing company and talking directly to the actual engine designers when required.

                        Bye bye.
