    Extending the receiver is not a great idea. To much stress on the rear of the vehicle. Wheelbearings suspension bushes. The whole lot. Its the easiest way but comes with many negatives. Tow ball down weight is greatly reduced.

      Do you have a photo of the car & Tvan parked in a straight line showing how far the door opens? We've got a 150 and Mk3 Tvan without a front box - we're getting a Mk4 with a box early next year and I'm now worried it's going to be a pain!

        Extended drawbar on your trailer when ordering would be the best solution. Also makes reverse parking easier as imputs to the steering wheel react slower to the trailer. Had this on my boat and with the 80 series drop down tailgate made all the difference.
