I have a 2016 GXL Prado and am looking to put a 12V outlet in the load space as I only have the 240V socket. I was looking to see if I could put a socket just above the 240v one and was trying to work out how to remove the side panel and found this weird little thing that when I pulled out it has 2 wires attached to something electronic looking. Could it be an aircon sensor maybe? See photos.

Where is that exactly? A bit hard to tell by the pics.2010 GXL Prado D4D Auto - ARB Deluxe winch bar, Roadsafe recovery points, Rhinorack Pioneer platform, AMTS fuel filter/compressor combo bracket with FM100 filter and ARB compressor, Maxtrax, TIN175 transmission oil cooler bracket and tranny cooler. I'm sure I'll find something else....

I think it's a thermistor, used as part of the temperature control system.2010 GXL Prado D4D Auto - ARB Deluxe winch bar, Roadsafe recovery points, Rhinorack Pioneer platform, AMTS fuel filter/compressor combo bracket with FM100 filter and ARB compressor, Maxtrax, TIN175 transmission oil cooler bracket and tranny cooler. I've seen another thread on here with the same question, from memory it was indeed a thermistor as noted above. Will try and find link.
Here it is:- http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...owered-fitting
No definitive answer but same general consensus.

Not wanting to sidetrack the thread, but how did you go installing a 12V socket? Did you run new wire, or pick up an existing feed?
From what I understand there is a 100W inverter somewhere running the 240V powerpoint in the back - that would need a 10A feed, so maybe could be used to also power a cig lighter socket (but not simultaneously)?

There is a cable pair in the same location which feeds the 12V socket in the GXs. Have a read through the useful wires thread. I used the +Ve wire to trigger my BCDC.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic
