Remote Engine Start

Hi everyone,

Wondering if anyone has remote engine start on their Prado ?

I've got a kakadu but don't think that helps. I'm going to get dealer to unlock window down feature.

Any info would be appreciated as I live in the mountains and would love to be ablw to warm the car up without going outside....

- Door Key P/W Up
- Door Key P/W Down
- P/W Up W/Transmit
- P/W Down W/Transmit

I did find a link for remote startup but there were no options in it available.

I looked at this a while ago. Don't think it can be done via techstream but it is possible.

If the lexus GX can be remote start surely the vx and kakadu can be... lots n lots of reading to do

I rekon this could work. Not sure with tbe 2.8 though as it says to 2015. All though come to think of it mines a 2.8 2015 august built kaka.... mmm ight buy it.

Looks interesting - im guessing its plug and play.

Out of curiosity when the car is remote started, do the doors stay locked and unlock as usual as per the proximity sensor and touching on the inside of the door handle. Dont really want somebody driving off in your pride and joy.

With the Commodore/HSV the process was lock the doors, then start the engine. You could then unlock the doors remotely or using the proximity sensors but you couldn't drive off unless you went through the usual start procedure of foot on brake and press the start button. I would think this approach would be pretty universal. Initially I thought it was a gimmick but remove start proved very useful on hot days getting the AC running and as the remote range was a good 80m could be done from a good distance in car parks.

Exactly my thoughts mjrandom.

I have 2 young kids and this feature would be a blessing on a schorching day like yesterday in Sydney 43 degree.

found a installation PDF file from toyota/lexus etc... i've pulled car apart and cannot find the connectors they are talking about. I'm ok technically minded but yeh not the best. the photos and pictures with the install look very similar but i can't nail it.
