Take a measurement off the ground. The mudflap is meant to be a certain height off the ground.

Yeah I believe it's supposed to be no more than 300mm in QLD but I have got a 2 inch lift and different tyres so that changes everything from original. But good thought. Cheers

I went to my local dealer a couple of days ago and they said they had never heard of the problem before, but to their credit he said just wait and I will go and look into it further for you. So after 10 mins he came back and said that Toyota do recognise the problem but will only replace them if the car was still in it's warranty period. I think it shouldn't make any difference whether it is still under warranty or not. Toyota fitted them to the vehicle from the factory and have admitted there is a problem and the problem isn't fixed when the warranty runs out it's only fixed when the mudflap issue is rectified. But he kindly offer to sell me the upgraded mudflaps at the great price of $150 each x 4 = $600.

Just returned from my local dealership where, after asking in 3 different ways, I shelled out 319,95 AUD for the updated and extended mud flaps all around the car. As it was not a recall, and my car was already 6 years out of warranty, all they could do was give me trade price...As I wanted to protect my still immaculate paintwork on my 2011 GXL with only 96k on the clock, and like the look of the genuine Toyota mud flaps, I just gave in and paid.
