I have a 2018 2.8l diesel 150GXL (current model) and am buying a 2500kg ATM van so need to be very mindful of how I load my Prado. I understand about ATM, GVM and GCM and think I can manage that aspect. However, it is also necessary to ensure separately that each axle is not overloaded. Finding out maximum axle capacities has been difficult.
The Toyota website says look in the Owner's Handbook but I have not been able to find any thing on axle capacity there. I went to my local Toyota dealer and asked them. Not something they know about really. When pressed they sent me a table but I cannot attach because it is too big. It is complex but to know what is going on you need to choose specific models based on trim and a few other items. Unfortunately this document refers levels of trim such as TX- and TX-L so I am not sure that what those are. The axle capacities can vary by as much as 100kg so it does matter. I have asked the dealer for more information but so far they have not responded.
Does anyone know where I can get this information? It is not as easy as I thought.
