  • Prado 150 Transfer case

    Hey
i noticed a slight leak yesterday and gave it a clean with degreaser and hoped all problems were gone however done a 40 km drive and checked it this morning and the leak is still present, i have searched through the forum and can not find anyone else with a leak from this position. Any ideas?

I've checked the Toyota manual and it does not appear there is any sort of gasket or silicone used

Looks like a casting mark, could be a crack though it would mean oil is running uphill. Its also awfully clean if its a crack as one would expect oil to be coming through it.

Looks like it might be missing some sealant in that area.

Thats what i thought i couldn't see any around the area, i have spoken to Toyota about ordering a gasket set/ overhaul for the transfer and i think i might remove from the car replace all the seals and replace but with a bit of sealant and hopefully witth any luck that should fix her up.
