2010 Manual Surging at High Speeds

Hi All,

Sorry if this is in the wrong area, I'm new here. I bought a 2010 GXL Prado a few weeks back, absolutely love the car!

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on an issue it's having at the moment, when in 6th gear doing freeway speeds it surges/jolts when accelerating. Doesn't do it in 5th gear at the same speed, and doesn't do it in 6th gear doing 60km/h.

I replaced both fuel filters at the hope it would fix it but it didn't, and I'm on my 3rd tank of fuel.

Any advise would be very much appreciated.

what is the service history of the car like? there are a few options, clean the MAF would be the first thing I would look at, the next is the TFN52 update - there is some info in the forum about it, I have the issue between 2200 and 2500RPM, keeping the MAF clean helps the issue but the update resolves it.

The car came with the service history all filled in, 2 or 3 were a few thousand ks over. I'm getting it serviced soon and will get them to see if there's an update available, and I'll give the MAF a clean this weekend. I'll do some research on the update now

we had similar and it was the Suction Control Valve...replaced and all good now..
