I know what you mean. I've had my 79 series photographed for an upcoming article in 4WD Action (including references
to the good bunch on PradoPoint I hope ) and just doing the photos was the best part of a day.

Got invited to be included in a DVD filming session that's happening over here in the west (which unfortunately I couldn't
do - #!&@^ work), and for one "simple" DVD travel segment, 5 days was required.

Lots of time and effort goes into the production of the magazines for sure.

Anyhow back on topic, as others have said - I look forward to the results. Good on you both.

              Lucky you...

You say it was a GXL but it doesn't appear to have the front camera system (at least not visible in your pics). Was it removed or wasn't it fitted? Any comments on handling and drive?

Re: New Prado 4WD Action Comparo Photo Shoot

in my opinion the ride was very good, handled the bumps of the tracks we took really well, this model gxl didnt have the trick kdss suspension, nor did it have all the trick camera system, it did have a reverse camera but the fellas from the mag reckon it was very hard to judge the distances when reversing, so for std suspension it handles quiet well, it did a little grading on lavis lane but overall it handled really well, the std at20 grandcraps r a disgrace in the mud, but the traction control works quiet well. the interior is well put together but takes some getting used to the layout of the dash. im not a fan of push button 4wd systems, i like the old transfer lever that way you get to feel if it goes in. on the beach it went really well, handles all the tests we could put it through. What i dont like is the way the back seats fold into the floor, reducing 30l in fuel capacity and having to lift stuff a 100mm higher the floor sits from the 120. Also i dont like the look of the new model, its a cross between a 200 and a Kluger and a Rav4, would i buy 1 i think not because of the look, but when and if some after market companies develop products i might think about it. With a bar, lift and some different rubber it will look like a different vehicle. cheers samo

I have heard it's roof is 15mm lower than my 120 series. That's headroom I cannot do without...

and yes, I reckon it looks much like a Kluger. I wish I got to drive it Matt. I only got to watch as a few journos took it few its paces up at Orange..

So did the 150 seem to be at a disadvantage due to the crap tyres or did this not really make any difference? Matt and Glenn both have descent tyres on their rigs and I know Matt has a locker but not sure about Glenn. Just wondering how the performance was of the 150 in contrast to the Home Boys tigs despite the differences in aftermarket accessories.

                                Its all good Samo
I didnt see much flex from either or the other 2 trucks

had a great day, cant wait to see the end resolt

                                my thoughts on the 150;
despritly needs a lift but rear flex was better than expected,
very high plastic bumpers front & rear look expensive to replace
front mounted intercooler sounds like trouble
engine bay layout is pretty good, easy to get to the filters and space for 2nd battery

Would i get one? not till it flexes like a 90
