Hi Guys, Long time no post but I have a set of 6 of these ie the genuine Pelican/BMW type tie down points in as new condition. I removed them from my Kakadu when I sold it 2 odd years ago. I actually purchased them from a member here so thought it fitting to help someone out on the forum. Only used them a few times and they are the best option by a country mile that I can assure you. Can post pics if anyone is interested and am open to reasonable offers. Have not posted anywhere else, can't really be bothered.
Cheers
Russ.

Hello samboz150
New to this forum, after researching tie down points for my brand new $95K Prado, hubby assumed we would have some and did not even think to check. Have been quoted +$360 for 4 from Toyota, once they figured out what I needed.
Reading posts from way back on this thread, I am surprised it is not a fixed component of the car. Will also have to now cut into my new rear cargo mat to expose them to allow them to work. NOT HAPPY.
So my point is can you post some pics of the ones you are offering for sale. I would like to show him. Thanks fi

Hi Fi,
If you go the last post on page # 3 a dude has a couple of link's there of them.
If you have a kaka or VX you would give your left nut for them as there is nothing else out there (well back then and sounds like still) that does the job as well. Mind you looks like you can't buy them anymore which is a shame for you guys.
I only got my 6 in the last year or so of owning the vehicle and wish I had them from the start.
Have a couple of guys here I have just PM'd and I can assure you I have not asking for body parts in trade!
Cheers.

After reading this thread and realising these darn things are so hard to get I went out back and started looking at solutions
Now I just used what i had lying around in my garage way over rated for what is needed but i had it already
So I measured the track opening and scribed some 6mm steel plate to suit, marked dead centre and drilled a 12mm hole, used a grinder cut out marked rectangle, popped m12 bolt through steel plate screwed on M12 eye nut and all done, I guess you could add a tiny amount of loc tite to thread to avoid loosening and no need to use M12, M10 or M8 would still be over kill also could use 4mm steel plate

Long time lurker here.. just wanted to say a thanks for all the info.
If you're looking for a cheap functional set of eye bolts to fit luggage rails for your VX (2012 here) then the rhino rack M8 have worked a treat -

As in other comments just remember to remove them before elevating the rear seats.

I just obtained mine on Friday from the local dealer. The salesman had no idea what I was talking about until I drew a diagram and he gave it to the spare parts guy to track down. RRP was $510 including one hours labour to fit (ha ha). Coming out of a BMW I cannot believe they are not standard. Having said that they are beautifully made and look a treat.
