Kids watch movie, Dad listens to radio -?

Hi All

I have a new Kakadu and want to know if the kids are watching a movie can I listen to the radio at the same time? If I can how do I do it? The kids have their head sets on so I can't hear their movie and if I had the radio on I assume they wouldn't hear that either.

i had the same trouble ,the settings can be changed using the the remote control on the monitor in the back seat.

Yes you can they need the head phones which have number 1 and 2 on them or A and B cant remember. You have the radio on and they pick up whats playing on the DVD which their earphones.
Sorry I jumped the gun I thought it worked the same as my ex Kluger Grande we just traded but it is different. I have only had my Kaka for a few days and today realised what you mean. I can't find much in the owners manual either.

Rugby ..... how do you do it because my local Toyota dealer couldn't help today either. They will look into it and get back to me. Could you explain step by step please?

The kids get the option to select the input device radio, DVD or aux same for the driver. If your driving then you only hear the sound from the DVD (no video displayed unless stationary) in front.

never required any special setup from factory. Kids just popped in the DVD and put on the headphones and I selected FM1.

I got it, actually it was my nine year old daughter. When the movie is running, grab the remote and jump in the back seat. Hit the "Source" button and down at the bottom right corner is a button called "Speaker output", it'll have a green light on it. Use your toggle stick on the remote to move down to this button and push the toggle switch in, (select) the light will go off. Now the sound only goes through the headsets, jump back into the front seat and hit the "audio" button on your multi function system and choose what ever you like, radio, USB or CD. You should be able to listen to your music while the kids watch the movie.
Life is sweet in a Kakadu ..... for now anyways !!!!

Now how do I get DIVX movies to play ?????

Were you able to figure out how to listen to the USB source while the kids have a WDTV plugged in (or any other device plugged in) in the back? I've been stuck using a FM transmitter for playing the USB source.
