What is KM's remaining just after you fuel up?

Hi All

when you fill up with diesel, what does your computer tells you for KM's till empty? Mine said 1100km's the very first time I filled it, I was hoping for approx 1500 - 1600? Maybe it'll get better or more accurate as time goes by??? I will need to fill again in the next few days so it should be interesting.

MIne says about 1300. But at around 0 it takes less than 130 litres. Go figure.

I've fueled up full about 5 times, and seem to get only about 1230km to empty each time, mentioned to local toyota, on list to find me an answer, good to see it wasn't a stupid question i asked after all

god that would be nice.. mine is around 1080kms..

i don't drive the thing hard, but i guess i do tow and it's mainly city driving with very little freeway

Just filled mine up today and it said 89km's left till empty before I filled it, it took approx 120lts and it said 1202 km's till empty once filled. There are huge variations with fuel estimates, according to the computer I am getting approx 11.3 lts per 100 km's with the last tank full.

After filling up I drove 30km's home and got it down to 9lts per 100 kms but that was driving very light on the accelerator. (rolling down hills where I could in neutral.)

My D4d VX has done around 11000k.

I have averaged about 10km per 100 over that time. The in car computer always reports about 5 to 10% better that the actual calculation.

ie I normally have around 9.8 on the car since refuel but get 10.5 when calculated from the odmeter vs fuuel added to tank. Bit wierd

Over time the km left to refuel has gone up on each refuel. 1100 odd on the first fill. Now any where from 1250 to 1350 km. Like i said I have been to zero but never put more than 130 litres in it. Usually fill it when the light comes on. Manual says that should be 23 litres left and I would say that is acurate. WHen travelling without the boat I have worked on 1300km per tank when calculating fuel stops. I know then I have a little in reserve if needed. ABout 1000km when towing the boat. (5m Ally)

Filled up yesteday, 110 litres, I thought there must be something wrong. Computer said that I only had enough fuel for 90 Ks before filling up.
Did I really still have 40 odd litres in my tank? Obviously I did after reading this thread...

Just completed approx 1400km round trip and averaged according to computer "after refuelling" 8.8lt/100km's. When I refuelled it said I had 176km left ..... very happy with that outcome. I had 2 x adults & 2 x kids (6&9) in the cars with suit cases and gear for three days.
I forgot to take notice of how many litre I took when I refuelled !!! My overall average according to the computer is 10.8lt/100km's.
It seems the more the average comes down the higher the computer reports that you have km's left till empty. It said 1300km's to empty after I refuelled from the long trip, it makes sense to do this.

What is every one elses "overall average"?????

Manual D4D, getting 10.7 Avg overall, and 10.8 Last Refuel (Inc. full day in low range @ Newnes). Cant remember Distance to empty, 1100ish from memory.

My GXL Turbo Diesel has about 5000 ms on the clock now, says I get roughly 1260 from the full tank when I fill it up

HOWEVER

Seem to be averaging around 10.1 (lot of city driving in that given where I live)....so I would have expected about 1450.....have never driven it until the fuel light is flashing......planning on a run at trhge end of the year, with a couple of Jerries on board so we shall see

Hmmm, clearly this is where the Petrol engine doesn't excel... about 970kms after a fill.

Mind you, might have something to do with my lead foot occasionally.

Ours showed 1328 after the last refuel.....3rd tank full. Ours also shows about 5% varience on average compared to manually doing it. Our speedo is about 4ks out at 100ks so this does contribute to the problem.

GXL TD AUTO with mainly urban driving, I get 1250km to empty after refuel, in car computer readout giving an average of 9.9l/100km which seems conservative, haven't done acurate calculations as yet to verify.

Just polished off 700 odd k's in my GXL Auto Diesel. It's first full tank today and the reading was 1225km to empty.
