SRS Warning light

We picked up our GXL today and drove straight to get the tyres changed to BFG's. The tyre place was literally around the corner so I didn't really have time to notice too much about anything. On the way home, I noticed a warning light on which I did not recognise and thought it was nothing major and I would sort it out when I got home. I checked the manual and discovered it is the SRS warning light. Obviously I will need to take it back in to them. My concern is that we had after market leather put in (organised by the dealer) and this may be the reason for the fault. Has anybody else had an issue with this light?

Aftermarket leather, as the seats were retrimmed? if so are the seat airbags reconnected ?

My dealer would not retrim the GXL seats in leather because of the SRS - That was one of the reasons I went for the VX. The other was that I it cost me just over 70k

Correct, the seats were re trimmed. Apparently the company used does this for Brighton Toyota on a regular basis although this was the first 150 that the dealer had organised to be re trimmed. How would I know if the seat airbags have been re connected?
70k for a vx seems very good. We paid 65k including the leather.
Out of interest, who was the dealer that would not retrim?

There is a connector under the seats if you look underneath the seats you should see them on both drivers and passengers side;the feed connector and wiring come through the carpet , I hope it is a simple fix,maybe they forgot to plug 1 x of them in?

Thanks a1mbm.There are 3 plugs under the drivers seat - a square white one, a yellow one and a light grey one. On the passenger side there is only a yellow and grey plug. There is no white male plug going to the white female plug on the passenger side. Does that sound correct?
I cannot however see any unplugged wires.

Antiquesman,I have just checked and there is a white plug on the passenger side with nothing connected,as an international standard all wiring for SRS is yellow,(so it is all connected by the looks of it), it may be a job for the dealer tomorrow to plug their diagnostics in and find the problem it should be something simple anyway,it may have logged the code from simply having the wiring disconnected to remove the seats,let us know how you go

The problem it seems was a wire either damaged or not correctly fitted by the company that fit the leather. I have asked for a written explanation but am still waiting. I will post this once I receive it.
