Hi Folks,
We have just returned from two weeks in Malaysia and during our stay, read an interesting article in the Penang Star Newspaper, Starbiz, Foreign News, Friday April 16th, page 87.
The article was the second in two days to mention that Toyota is to test all SUV's after Lexus sales halt.
The report mentions that Toyota had taken the unusual step of stopping sales of the SUV model (Lexus GX460) in the US, following 'Consumer Reports' magazine warned against buying it, calling it, a 'safety risk' because of a potential handling problem in certain turns.
The report was quite specific about the Lexus GX460 model and the markets in which they are sold.....US/Canada 5400 units and 580 units in Middle East and Russia.
Looking at the photo which appeared in the paper......the vehicle looks exactly the same as the Prado 150.
My question is: is the Prado 150 and the Lexus 460 the same vehicle with the the same electronic stability control system ??? and has anyone heard of other reports ???
I do have a copy of the article, which I could scan for those interested.
Regards,
