  • 2nd row seats don't tumble

Hmm, just noticed that the new sliding seat mechanism on the 2nd row seats means that they no longer tumble forward like in the 120 (or my Pajero).

This is a real shame as it creates a great spot for the dog (or extra luggage) when they are tumbled forward against the back of the driver/passenger seats.

Is the GX with the non sliding 2nd row the same or do they tumble forward as in the 120?

    Cheers, Sam.

Re: 2nd row seats don't tumble

Well my GX has just been delivered, and I can now confirm for anyone interested that the 2nd row in a 5 seat GX tumble as follows :

        1. There is a small loop in near the join of the seat back and seat bottom area. You pull this and it then "tumbles" the seat bottom area forward (much like the older style tumble).

        2. You then pull the latch to fold the seat back down into the area where the seat bottom was.

This gives either a good place for the fridge if you only tumble forward the seat bottom, or else a nice flat floor if you tumble then fold the seats all the way down.

        Best of both worlds really!

        SOOO impressed with the GX!

Re: 2nd row seats don't tumble

I know on my KAKA, with the rear seats I couldn't work out why the seat wouldnt fold forward. After reading and reading and re-reading the owners manual I finally worked out myself that they will not fold forward if the head rests are not pushed fully in/ or not extended out.

          hope it helps

Re: 2nd row seats don't tumble

i have a 150gxl - does this mean I can still fold the seats forward to have a flat floor like I can do in the 120?

I used to camp all the time just sleeping in the back of the 120 - would love to know if still possible. I haven't had much time to check

Re: 2nd row seats don't tumble

Was about to go out today and purchase a 150 VX but if the seats don;t tumble forward it will be useless for me as I carry a lot of long gear in the back of the 120. Bummer I was just getting really excited as well! What a silly thing not being able to tumble them forward, I had better head down and check them out this morning. I had just assumed that they would tumble.
