Theres been a lot of talk of late about Toyota’s dodgie air filter box allowing dust to get by the filter an enter the turbo & engine.

In both this and the article in Pat Callinan emag article it is suggested that the box itself may be the culprit due to it flexing and that smearing some vasoline or similar around the lid where it seats would be a simple fix short term.
Are they referring to where the lid seats in the air box itself or where the lid seals with the filter.?
