  • 2009 Prado unable to connect to phone via call audio

    Hi all,

For the past few weeks, I've been unable to successfully connect my android phone to by 2009 Prado with call audio enabled. I can pair up my phone to the stock Toyota stereo fine and am able to listen to music as well as control the tracks fine. When I go to the bluetooth settings and tap on the gear icon beside the "Car M_Media" connection, all I see are "media audio" and "contact sharing". I don't see any option for "call audio", which explains why I was able able to answer calls using the button on the steering wheel.

Has anyone encountered any such issues before and knows a fix?

My phone is running Android 8.0 with the September 2018 security patch. I tried pairing my partner's Samsung Galaxy S7 phone but I'm getting the same issue.

I don't have the answer but have had the same issue when I've paired an audio device, it kicks the phone connection off!???

What I've done is delete paired devices and follow handbook instructions to pair a phone.

Yea, I've tried deleting all paired devices and adding my phone again several times but I'm still getting the same issue.

It's such a shit system. I can only connect my phone via bluetooth if I try to connect within ~30 seconds of turning the car on. Try and connect after that time period and it won't work unless you turn the car off and on again
