  • Cost of a 30,000 km Toyota dealer service on a GXL Auto GDJ150R

    Hi,

    2016 GXL Prado Auto GDJ150R

Can someone tell me what the cost of a 30,000km service would be from a Sydney Toyota dealer based on the Service Booklet scheduled maintenance work?

it's one of the cheaper ones, Toyota around $300, Midas and Ultratune will be cheaper. Midas logbook service on that one would be under $200 for logbook service.

Its the 40k 80k 120k 160k 200k services (every 40k basically) that are the expensive ones ($600 - $1000 depending on who does it..)

Ok thanks. Spoke to Service Mgr yesterday at the Toyota Dealership and he said about $340 which seems consistent with your numbers. So they create a profile on their system so I can book it in and the girl rings me today and says $540, go figure!

Have a look in your log book to see what the service includes - most likely change oil and filter, and then check things.. thats a lot of money for oil and filter
There are many here that wouldnt get their car serviced at a dealership due to many bad experiences.

Any reason why it doesn't qualify for service advantage? Mine were all capped at $210 for the first 3 years up to 60K.

Doesn't qualify for service advantage because it is an ex-rental vehicle which I purchased directly from one of the national rental companies. I suspect because of the fleet discounts they get on new vehicle purchases from Toyota, no capped price servicing applies to these vehicles.

I recently had a 200K service done by Toyota & paid $1000. 2010 GXL D4D. That's the last time at Toyota for me as they charged 5.5hrs labour at $135/hour. My son just had a service done on his Navara where they did more work, charged at $100/hour, and only 1.5Hours total labour. Toyota say they do so many checks, including balance & rotate, yet I know for a fact they don't do half of them. They also rip through the jobs as quickly as humanly possible to make as much money as humanly possible on the default labour component. Good luck with your decision.
