A family member owns a 2010 Prado with 1GR FE 4.0L petrol engine. She broke her wrist and the vehicle was parked up for a few weeks. In this time rats have nested in the valley of engine and snacked on a heap of wires and the fuel line joining the 2 x fuel rails together at the front of engine.
The wiring I have sorted no problem.
Toyota said the fuel rail assembly would need to come from Japan 2- 3 weeks. No problem because the she was still unable to drive for a few weeks.
Now (3 weeks later) Toyota say the part needs to be made and is another 5 weeks away. It is still coming but I'd like to get her on the road quicker if possible.
I have tried local wreckers (Newcastle area), also some Sydney & Brisbane 4x4 wreckers. No luck.
My question is 3 part. Can anyone suggest or know of anyone with a replacement fuel rail assembly for this vehicle?
Would it be something repairable? I'm hesitant to do this due to being a fuel line.
Is the fuel rail on this model considerably different to previous 1GR FE engines?
Cheers,
