Child restraint anchorage points...

Picking up my VX before the 30th June... just thought about the fact that I didn't check it for restraint anchorage points for my two kids.

I had a look at the Toyota website and can't find anything on there about them.

Please tell me they are there on the middle row, and that they are on the back of the seat and not the ceiling or floor where the straps take up valuable room and look messy!!!

Dont stress. It has anchor points at the back of all the seats in the middle row.

Yes, there are 3. The good thing also is that they are high up on the back of the seats, so you won't need extension straps if you are installing a baby capsule. The points in the 120 series were down low.

on this subject though...

the restraint points have plastic caps that don't fully detach. this is a really bad design as it means the plastic cap can easily be broken off by luggage in the boot!!

Or broken off by meddling kids in the third row ! When collecting your car the dealer should ask how many kids you have and give you a factor of 10x the number of spare plastic caps :lol:

Thanks - if they give you spares I'll grab a few. One of my little monkeys will only be in a child seat for another year so the cover will need to go back onto the back of his seat. Glad it's not that roof system that I've seen in some cars - nightmare.

If the covers are anything like the way Toyota puts on covers, you may be able to unscrew the cover off and just have the anchorage point sitting there bare. Then when you're done, replace the cover.

Yeah the roof is bad, but not as bad as the middle of the floor of the rear cargo space as in a mates Subaru. Install 1 child seat, divide usage luggage space in half. It's hard to make the baby bonus stretch to cover a new car!

What about the very back row of seats - I popped them up and couldn't find an anchor point anywhere... weird since they were made for midgets?

You won't find any for fitted/ anchored seats in the last row, some sort of safety/ legal reason.

You can get aftermarket anchorage points fitted to the 3rd row but not sure if anyone has done the 150 yet.
