What is the best way of towing an auto Prado?

I am looking for some advice that seems to be missing from my owners handbook. I know that you cannot tow an automatic but in case of a breakdown out in the scrub what can be done? I have asked around and was told that all that is required is to disconnect the tail shafts isolating the transmission - towing can then be done. Is this all that is required?

Disconnect shafts. As an Auto needs to be running to pump oil around it, towing will cause damage. In theory if the engine is running, and auto has pressure, then it "should" be ok being towed. This scenario would be individual to what the issue is that needs the car to be towed.
