Bluetooth audio issues GXL 150 series

Playing via Bluetooth from Android (Nokia) phone, audio is very hit and miss. Seems worse since Google Music died (now using Spotify Premium)
Since new, I’ve sometimes had the “uploading contacts unsuccessful” and “uploading call log history unsuccessful” but just recently I’ve been getting

• Sticks on “connecting - sometimes music plays, sometimes not
• fails to display track info - sometimes music plays, sometimes not
• track progress doesn’t update while playing

i’m just wondering if it’s just me, or if everyone else is having these issues too with the stock multimedia system?

i keep hoping Toyota will install an updated firmware that solves these problems. I have definitely had over the air updates fairly recently, but not clear what issues, if any, these have addressed.

I had some issues with the bluetooth dropping out or freezing last year. I had downloaded the covid app. I uninstalled the app and have had no problems since.

I've always had issues with the Toyota Bluetooth in the factory head unit. Very hit and miss. Audio is terrible. My opinion is unless you change the head unit there is not upside . Compared it to my mates Ranger the other day. A little piece of me died inside....
