    2010 Turbo Diesel. Purchased second hand 12 months ago.
    Within a week of owning the car, driving along the highway, 4lo, check engine etc etc. loss of all power and had to limp home. Took to mechanics, code reading turbo failure. Replace turbo at thousands of $$$.
    less than 12 months later, blown turbo again!! Back to workshop replaced turbo under warranty. About 6 weeks later I get a call from the mechanics saying the turbo has been tested by the manufacturer and issue was not with turbo itself. Apparently my car is causing the turbos to blow and it will happen again.
    I’m waiting for the official report to come through but from memory there was talk of exhaust getting too hot, leaking injectors and something else, any of which could be the reason the turbo is blowing constantly.

    chasing all and any advice or experiences in relation to this. Meant to be going up north in a few months with caravan and looks like I’m going to be without a towing vehicle

    You'd know if a turbo had failed without a code. Noise, smoke etc..
    Have you had a second opinion on all of this? If the turbo is "blown" and has been swapped under warranty and then claimed 6 weeks later it has no issue.. sorry, somethings not adding up here.
    What code was thrown for the supposedly "blown" turbo?

      I got the report today from the manufacturer.
      cause of turbo issue was “wheel tip melt failure” caused by one or more issues including but not limited to:
      1. Leaking fuel injectors
      2. Coked inlet manifold/ inoperative secondary butterflies
      3. Coked 90 degree inlet manifold adaptor
      4. Coked/ inoperative EGR valve
      5. Coked throttle body
      6. Leaking MAP sensor filter
      7. Perished (through simple aging), rubber sensor lines
      8. Restrictive aftermarket snorkel

      mechanics have informed me that it will cost thousands for all of this to be checked.

      the code, whilst I can’t recall the number, read turbo boost/solenoid
      I have seen the code as I plugged in a reader myself the 2nd time it happened

        i would say that if you had some or all of those other issues before the incident the car would not be running that well anyway. There would be loads of smoke and no power

          thanks for your response. Yea I’ve never had any issues with the running of the car until the codes pop up and it goes into limp mode.

          I guess I’m really trying to work out if I replace the injectors and hope like hell that solves the problem.

          I don’t want to replace the injectors then have a stuffed turbo again in 6 months or less with no idea what caused it.
          $$$$$
