  • Replacing Fender Aprons

My Prado 150 is seven and a half years old. Just found those rubber fender liners or aprons behind the front wheels totally wrecked. Driven 85000 km mostly on tarmac, never climbed rocks and less than 1500km on unsealed and corrugated roads. Thought a bit premature for these to fail?

Anyway, the good guys at Toyota quoted me $400 to replace both front pairs. That’s excluding the clips!

Then I found these in eBay for 1/20th of the price, and include clips.

Anyone had these fail and had to get them replaced? Would the eBay ones be regrettable? And 120 series same as 150 series, right?

I just read some feedback on them and the holes don't line up clips are crap and there very stiff. I suggest giving Clark rubber your cash and making your own but easier said then done.
If you must have them let us know how they work out.

Cool, I thought that would be the case,
the usual eBay garbage.. I now found a guy that will cut me a set out if some fabric reinforced rubber using the originals as templates. Will see how that goes.

I fitted the eBay ones to my 120 before I sold it. They where fine.

Hi all. My aprons on Apr16 GX also disintegrated. The Toyota prices are just crazy. I got theses ones on Ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/29367108...4AAOSwHAdfI-kU and they have survived a few thousand kms so far. Yes, some holes don't quite line up but a bit a bending and all was OK. The supplied clips have also held it in place. BTW, it says 16 clips but it does supply 20 or 5 for each apron. Heck, for just over $20, forget making your own! Gerry

Sweet - I noticed one if them has ripped on my 2018 model already too, so I'll grab some of these eBay ones - thanks for the tip!

I wonder if these splash guard really are necessary though...

I installed the Ebay ones, >50,000km so far they are still fine. Yes not a perfect fit but they certainly do the job.
