High beam flash not working

Hi all, got a newish to me 2018 vx prado, having issue with my high beams, they work fine when I push the stalk forward, but if I pull it back toward me to try and flash nothing at all happens, no indication on the dash or any thing. Any advice?

Do the headlights actually flash with just no indication on the dash?
