Distance to Empty (DTE) figure wildly out after filling. How long to re-calculate?

After filling the car with ~50L of diesel, right to the top, my DTE says 790Kms, which is way off. So I drove it for a KM to see if it takes a sec to update, but still 790Kms.

Is there some delay between filling and recalculating? I am getting almost spot on 10.0L/100km on average, so I'd expect to have a DTE reading around the 1400 to 1500Km mark, given the tank size is 150L.

Sadly I didn't check before filling what the figure was (if it was 790Kms then maybe it just takes a lot of time or maybe more Kms to recalc).

Mine takes a few km to register and when it does it rarely reads more than 1100-1200 km. When it reads empty and the light flashes it will rarely take more than 130 litres. A big safety margin!

Without going back to refer to my handbook for my 2019 GXL with its 150L capacity tanks, the fuel light comes on at 22L remaining. This seems correct for the occasions when I run low on fuel.
For recalibration, I have trouble believing what I see on the fuel range estimate. I use my own mental arithmetic to estimate range depending on the fuel usage during a journey. During a DPF burn, more fuel is used during the burn when the DPF injector is used. Driving into a headwind and towing uses more fuel.
If using fuel at higher rate while towing, I have found even though the distance to empty is shown as overestimated when the tanks are full to half full. Also l have found the distance to empty value quickly approaches what would be the more correct value as the tanks are nearer to empty. I believe my own calculations more. On one occasion, I could not obtain fuel from a number of servos in one region because of a very wide power outage where no one had distributed power. Finally arriving at a garage that I thought I could reach with my reminding fuel, the distance to empty value was shown as 24km. If that servo did not have power, I would have waited a couple of hours until power was restored for its pumps to be available.
