GX cargo mat in GXL without 3rd row

Hi all,

Pretty self-explanatory question here. I have removed the 3rd row seats in my early 2013 GXL 150. I know the wheel arch intrusions are slightly different but does anyone know if a GX rubber cargo mat would fit now that mine is also only a 5 seater?

Any other tips are welcome. I'm hoping for a temporary setup without the hassle and expense of building or buying a false floor.

Have you already removed the third row of seats?
In my 2019 GXL, after the seats were removed, there were a few things about the floor that made me go the direction of having a false floor. Some cables, especially a sensor that detects whether the electronic key fob is in the vehicle and floor ribs etc. I did not want cargo being dumped and dragged over any electrical equipment and floor undulations. I had to use some timber packing give space for the underside of the false floor to clear the key fob detector fittings.

As for a mat, luckily I had kept a well made rear floor mat from my previous 1999 GXL Prado. It is Bushranger brand, maybe something similar is available. It fitted pretty well enough for me.

Yes, I have the floor undulations and the internal rib where the seats bolted to. I was always planning on packing out some of the surface and maybe dropping a piece of wood in but figured a mat would be easier for now than carpeting it. I'll probably rope some friends who are handier than me into making a floor did you reuse the side wing bits or just make some new ones for yours?

you could try doing a search on this forum for removing third row is seats, I sort of recall that there were posts on that sublject with some photos posted.
Anyway, today I took a couple of photos of my cargo space. Also, I have a piece of some thin rubber sheet that we drape out over the rear bumper when loading heavy stuff. Mrs watsea tends to drag stuff over the bumper bar which would damage it over time. The rubber sheets gives some protection. It merely is layered under the rubber boot mat and the carpet on the false floor.
