Hi Everyone,
I have a 2013 150 Prado (3.0L D4D with single 140L fuel tank) and my fuel filter maintenance light recently came on.
I took off the old fuel filter and noticed a bit of crap in the fuel when I drained the fuel out of it so I replaced the filter.
I also noticed the Fuel Filter water sensor was a bit grubby so gave it a clean with a clean rag before putting it back together.
I put the assembly back together with the new filter and cleaned water sensor, whilst making sure to pump the button on the top of the filter assembly until fuel started shooting out before connecting the engine hose to ensure there was no air in the fuel line.
When I started the car up again the fuel filter maintenance light was still on.
I drove around a bit thinking it would turn off after a drive but it didn't.
I then tried unscrewing the bottom of the fuel filter water sensor to purge any water that may somehow still be in there but only clean fuel came out.
Fuel filter maintenance light is still on.
Is there something I am missing with the fuel filter? could one of the sensors need replacing?
