Service intervals when towing

Has anyone been told by a Toyota Dealer that if you're towing then the service interval is reduced from 10,000km to 5,000km? A friend with a two year old VX was recently told this by a dealer. I've not heard it before. In his and my case what we tow is sufficiently light and compact that the difference is minor, and particularly in my case as I have a tranny cooler.

That is covered in the Additional Maintenance Schedule at the rear of Section 2 of the Warranty and Service Booklet.

Never had a Dealer ask how I intend to use the vehicle to trigger them to mention needing to do the additional tasks between normal 10.000km/6mths service maintenance.
