Hi,
As per the email from Toyota below, they have recommended I contact you regarding the Bluetooth function in my 2010 Land Cruier Prado 150 Series GXL. My complaint with the bluetooth system is with the need to manually select in the menu system of the radio, which phone you want connected.
The system seems to lack the ability to auto-connect any other phones other that the "Selected Phone".
To describe it better, when Person/Mobile A is connected to the bluetooth and leave the car, and Person/Mobile B uses the car, Mobile B will never automatically connect when Mobile A is not found. To use Mobile B you must got into the phone menu and navigate through the menus and select Mobile B before it will connect. In every other car I've used with a bluetooth kit, When Mobile A is not reachable/cant be connected, the bluetooth kit would then try Mobile B, and so on until its tried all the unconnected paired phones.
Can you please advise why this feature is not available/functional in the Prado and if there are plans to put this feature in. Its a relatively simple feature and the use of Bluetooth phones has been over complicated with the Bluetooth Implimentation on the Prado making it prone to be forgotten and leaving you without a connected bluetooth phone.
Many thanks
Ryan McBride

Hi Ryan
Thank you for contacting Fujitsu Ten with your recent email enquiry.
With regards to your enquiry for the Bluetooth function in Land Cruiser Prado 150 Series GXL, we must advise you at this stage that our Bluetooth functions in the following way.
Regardless of how many mobile phones registered/paired in the audio unit, our unit was designed in such a way that they always try to auto-connect to the last used/connected phone if it is or not in that Bluetooth vicinity.
To describe it better, you have n number phones registered under Bluetooth. You were using Mobile A and your friend is using Mobile B both were paired up and Mobile A was using the Bluetooth connection for making and receiving the calls but Mobile B was just paired up but not using the actual connection. Now if mobile A is not in the blue tooth surroundings and mobile B was still in that blue tooth limit, mobile B won't connect automatically because our unit was not designed that way.
He/she has to manually select from the list of phones registered to make/receive calls.
Unfortunately we don't have any information on when those updates are being made to our unit to auto-connect 2 different mobiles at the same time. If we do update our units in the future, we definitely let all the dealers know and all that information would be in the Toyota website for your convenience.
Thank you for your advice for us to update our units accordingly.
If you do have any further enquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us on 03 9646 6008.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your email enquiry.
Thanks & Regards
