Quick question, is the Toyota standard GPS system (VX option or Kakadu) compatible with the ozi explorer or any other third party map system if so how are they loaded.

Not in the past and I don't think that anything changed since last model.

Sat Nav upgrades are only available via d/load from Toyota direct into the system on the car which has no DVD/CD separate sat nav system here in the UK - surely the same applies to Aust? :? - or is this not what you were asking?

The DVD drive for the maps is under the passenger seat on my VX.

While I haven't tried I am guessing the maps are proprietary and not able to be easily changed. After all everything is tightly integrated into the touchscreen head unit

On the VX (LC4) and above in the UK there is no separate sat nav drive ... its all in the main unit and only upgradable via a direct install from Mr T it seems....

Toyota GPS Satnav system is under the front passenger seat. You can remove the DVD disc by selecting this option on the control screen on the dashboard (Kakadu). Currently it is version 16 and is about one year out-of-date.

I also think that there is an eject button on the drive itself...

I believe it's not and I think the best way for you to get one is visit sat nav systems site or just get toyota parts from racepages.com. I hope this helps you.
