G'day ,
Picked up the new Prado today . It's a diesel GXL & very impressed so far. This site is great for information !

Had a DVD roof system installed by the dealer & it's great for the kids..
I was a bit concerned reading posts here that the console would be too far back as they usually install it where the interior light goes.. I found that they didn't install it where the interior light & it's in a great position as you can see in the photo, so if you want it done there's no issue...

Also took it straight to tyre shop & did a change over on the tyres so now have BFGoodrich All Terrains... I see a fair few people dislike the 3rd row seat however I was one who bought a kluger because of the pop up 3rd row & told the sales person I would have got the Prado if they had the same, so when we saw the 150 wanted to get it.. Anyway hopefully get 10 years out of this car..

Goning to be installing a dual battery & a 175amp anderson connector at the towbar to charge my campertrailer battery while towing..

Is that the same system you get in the Kakadu and how did it cost?

Hi no this not the same as the kakadu. Not sure on cost as it was all bundled in & I traded in a car.

Since buying the car have installed a dual battery system & hooked up the tekonsha brake controller. Very happy with the car so far! We're ready now to hook up the jayco & hit the oodnadatta track

Don't forget to do something about extending the mudflaps otherwise all the gibbers and stones on the track will trash the paint work under the doors and rear quarter panel :x
