  • Wheel stud not up to it...

I was showing my better half how to change a tyre today, when a nut and stud came clean off, after a small tap to loosen it. Made me look strong in front of the wife, but can't say I am too happy, one week after getting a service at Waterloo Toyota...

What came off in my hands looked like the torque wrench had done its work a little too well,

Back to Waterloo to get this fixed this week.

Same thing happened to me. The broken stud showed very obvious signs of being stretched (I still have it sitting on my desk). When I took it back to Toyota (who were the only ones who have removed a wheel from my vehicle) they were adamant they didn't use a rattle gun so it couldn't have been them. They then charged me fifty bucks to put a new one in. Grrr.

        Hello all,

Picked up the car and the stud replaced, and all others checked. No cost to me, which is a relief.

        Regards,
